We will present the petition to the Legislative Assembly in the fall of 2007.
This what it says
Petition to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, in Legislature Assembled;
Whereas the Government’s plans for commercial logging are unreasonable, unsustainable, risk serious damage to the watershed, to water quality, to biodiversity and to recreation;
Whereas this level of logging is not economically justifiable and will be harmful to the economies of local communities;
As advocates for the protection of Kananaskis Country, we the undersigned residents of Alberta, strongly object to Government plans for commercial logging in Kananaskis Country and request that the Legislative Assembly urge the Government to stop commercial logging in the Kananaskis Country and protect this entire area as a park.
